Border Stars edge closer
Brampton Stallions completed their swing through Southwestern Ontario with another scoreless tie, this time against Windsor Border Stars at Windsor Stadium Saturday night to follow a 0-0 result with London City on Friday.
It was a hard fought and well played contest, mostly in the midfield with Border Stars’ goalkeeper Anthony Santilli and Brampton’s ‘keeper Somora Miles determined to keep a clean slate when called upon to do so.
The tie gives Border Stars a 3-1-2 WLT record for 11 points on the season, now five points in arrears of leaders Oakville Blue Devils in the National Division. Brampton’s record is now 2-3-2 and tied for third position with North York Astros, eight points apiece.
The Astros are idle on Sunday, their afternoon game with Oakville Blue Devils, together with the Caribbean Selects vs. Windsor Border Stars, being postponed in favour of the World Cup Final. The Italia Shooters vs. Toronto Croatia game will be played at The Soccer Centre, a 7 p.m. kickoff.
