World Cup fan wins trip
Korean-born Janna Fraser, 41, of Toronto, who came to Canada at age 17 and became a soccer fan after following her native country do well in the last two World Cups, has won the Dream Trip to Europe for two.
The contest was conducted by the Canadian Soccer League, Toronto Community News, Alitours International Inc. and Rome Travel Agency with the draw taking place at Esther Shiner Stadium during the half-time interval of the CSL Championship Final between Italia Shooters and Serbian White Eagles, won 1-0 by Italia.
Janna, who is married to Canadian-born Andrew Fraser and has a 22-month old son, William Alexander, will choose Italy, Spain or England to see a AC Milan, Barcelona or Manchester United play at a date of her choosing.
“I follow soccer, especially in the World Cup, that and basketball are my sports,” she said on being notified of the win. Andrew explained that her interest in the game increased when Korea did well in the 2002 World Cup.
