WIZARDS GIVE MONTREAL THE SLIP WITH TWO WEEKEND WINS
Ottawa took the 10-point leap after coasting to a 3-0 shutout of North York Astros on Sunday, a game in which Kevin Nelson scored twice to add to his single the day before when the Wizards defeated Metro Lions, 3-1.

In CPSL exhibition games over the weekend, St. Catharines Roma Wolves were trounced 6-0 by a high flying Toronto Lynx at Club Roma, St. Catharines on Sunday afternoon and York Region Shooters and Brampton Hitmen both played the NTCO national development team to a tie. The Shooters tied 0-0 at Highland Park on Friday and Brampton tied 1-1 at Victoria Park, a game that was also scoreless until each team found the net from the penalty spot in the dying minutes.
