Hamilton came out attacking and after 15 minutes Ian Bennett put the Steeltown squad one up following a slip-up in the London defence. The score held to the second half when Gentian Buzali struck for London City to make te score 1-1 after 60 minutes. Thunder's Denny Velastegui put Hamilton ahead 2-1 after 75 minutes on a penalty kick and two minutes later Dave Simpson made it 3-1 for Hamilton after picking up a throw from goalkeeper Dino Perri in the Hamilton nets. Buzali reduced the Hamilton lead with a London goal after 86 minutes, his second of the game and 4th of the season for a 3-2 final score.
Hamilton jump on top of the Western Conference with an improved 7-5-3 WLT record for 24 points, followed by Mississauga Olympians in second place with 23 points, Toronto Croatia 22 points and St. Catharines Roma Wolves hold fourth place with 21. As a result of the defeat, London City are now at 2-6-6 for 12 points in sixth place in the 7-team division.
