WIZARDS BLANK TORONTO SUPRA 2-0, HITMEN ADVANCE TO LEAGUE CUP SEMI-FINALS
Ottawa took the lead five minutes before the interval on a goal by striker Kevin Nelson, his 10th of the season, and on the 72nd minute mark Abraham Osman made it 2-0 for the Wizards. It was also Osman's 10th goal of the campaign.
The win moves Ottawa (31 points) 10 points ahead of Montreal Dynamites, these two teams first and second respectively in the race for the Eastern Conference title.
Supra remain at the foot of the Eastern Conference with a 2-5-1 WLT record for 7 points.
In CPSL League Cup action on Sunday, Brampton Hitmen and Durham Flames played to a 2-2 tie at Victoria Park in Brampton. Kurt Mella opened the scoring after 13 minutes, his 7th goal of the season, but Durham's Jamoh Welsh made it 1-1 after 41 minutes. Welsh put the Flames one up after 67 minutes and Brampton's Yusif Jawando tied the game 2-2 eight minutes from time.The win moves the Hitmen in to the League Cup semi-finals on a 7-3 total goals aggregate
