Formally known as the Bud Argo Dance Team, the Toronto Argonauts cheerleaders will join the Brampton Hitmen for a game with the NTCO on Sunday, August 11, at Victoria Park in Brampton. The Dance Team of more than 20 will perform throughout the evening which, although an exhibition game, will be one of the more attractive events in the Brampton Hitmen calendar.
Kickoff is at 7.30 p.m."We are pleased to have our Dance Team involved in CPSL soccer and, therefore, in the greater community," explained Dave Haggith, director of public relations at the the CFL's Toronto Argonauts.
The National Training Centre, Ontario (NTCO) team is a roster of Canada's exceptional youth players based in Ontario and most are destined for professional status and national team honours. The NTCO coaching staff considers that involving these players with opposition that is tougher, more seasoned and generally more experienced than they have been meeting in youth soccer, will accelerate their development.
Sunday's game is the second involving the NTCO team and a CPSL team this weekend. York Region Shooters will host the young squad on Friday night at Highland Park in Aurora, an 8.30 p.m. kickoff. Even more exhibition soccer is on tap with the St.Catharines Roma Wolves vs. Toronto Lynx clash at Club Roma on Sunday afternoon, a 3 p.m. kickoff.
