MISSISSAUGA--A goal after 85 minutes by Brampton Hitmen centre-back Milodrag Akmadzic gave his side a 1-1 tie with Mississauga Olympians at the Twin Arenas ground here Thursday. Brampton had fought a 1-0 deficit with 10 men for most of the second half following the ejection of Roberto Bruni for striking an opponent after the play.

Olympians took the lead at the 24th minute mark when forward Kevin De Serpa struck a low shot well out of the reach of Brampton goalkeeper Paolo Ceccarelli and the ball entered the net low and off the far post. Brian Bowes looked sound in the Mississauga nets, returning to the Olympians following a spell with Metro Lions and a transfer on Tuesday. He had little chance on Akmadzic's goal that came off a corner kick. Olympians improve to an 8-5-3 WLT record for 17 points and second spot in the Western Conference as a result of the tie, while the Hitmen remain in fifth place with 12 points from a 3-6-3 record. The teams meet again at Victoria Park in Brampton on Saturday night, a 7.30 p.m. kickoff.
