ASTROS FIGHT BACK TO EARN 2-2 TIE WITH HAMILTON THUNDER IN ONLY GAME THURSDAY
North York Astros fought back after being down 2-0 to earn a 2-2 with Hamilton Thunder in a hard fought contest between two clubs at the top of the CPSL�s Western Conference in the only game played on Thursday.
Thunder, playing on their home turf at Brian Timmis Stadium in Hamilton, went ahead after 15 minutes on a goal by Kevin De Serpa and jumped into a 2-0 lead five minutes later on a goal by Stalin Cardenas.
Thunder pressed for a third goal as the first half progressed, but North York scored five minutes from the interval on a well taken strike by Fernando Flores. Peter Zorbas scored the equalizer at the 60-minute mark and held on to the 2-2 tie to the final whistle.
Hamilton Thunder (2-0-2 WLT) and the Astros (2-2-2) are tied for top spot in the Western Conference at 8 points apiece
