DYNAMITES CLINCH RUNNER-UP SPOT WITH 5-2 WIN OVER LONDON CITY; METRO LIONS BLANK SUN DEVILS 3-0, SETTLE FOR THIRD
Montreal took a 2-0 half-time lead on goals by Santos Sorano Ramirez and Nasson Theosmy and scored three more in the second half on goals by Khalid Mensah, Gerry Pean and a second by Nasson Theosmy. London City, playing its last game of the current campaign, countered with goals by Janko Stukic and Gentjan Buzali.
Montreal improves its record to 11-4-3 WLT for 36 points in the Eastern Conference with one game remaining, while London City finishes with a 2-10-7 record and 13 points in the west.
Mike Glasgow scored a pair for Metro Lions in the 3-0 shutout of Vaughan Sun Devils, while Carlos Redman struck the third. Lions complete their regular league schedule with a 11-6-2 for record 35 points and face an upcoming mid-week quarter-final Rogers Cup playoff game with the Dynamites.The venue is still being decided and the winner will to the semi-final to face Ottawa Wizards on Saturday as part of the final weekend at Esther Shiner Stadium in North York.
